I am 32 years old, and have a doctorate and a master's degree. I am nonetheless struggling to get a job in my field (cybersecurity) and currently live at home post-pandemic. I have a job coach and psychiatrist, but was in a funk pre- and post-election and didn't get much done in the way of applications until this week.
Two days ago my mother suggested that I use Asperger Experts to "improve my job chances". Today as she was leaving to go to an event with my sister, she told me that she had sent an inquiry anyway. Since this is the main forum I know about for Asperger's, I decided to create an account (my old one is long forgotten) and log in to find info. It looks like the reviews here are not positive.
What do I tell my mother? I don't want her to waste money on a useless program but I also don't want to get into a fight with her about it unless it's necessary.
To get my first job out of college, I had to move out of state to a big city. It was a lousy job, but it was my first. That is what comes of not knowing anybody and having no connections. Point being, you may have to widen your geographical search.
Another tactic, very ambitious for an aspie, would be go to events where you know important people from the company might be...and get to know them somehow. That's what the higher level NTs do... I never tried it but hey. There is always a first, right?
