I love it, but only when the symphonic elements are of a high quality. So Epica and Therion, for example, I can't get into because the classical elements sound cheesy and fake. But I love Dimmu Borgir, Nightwish, etc. I wish there was a band that sounded similar to Dimmu Borgir's "Death Cult Armageddon" in that it had a strong emphesis on a beautiful dark orchestra, but DIDN'T have those annoying death grunts, and was less monotonous. (I love Dimmu despite these things but they irk me nonetheless.)

Lacuna Coil (Evanescense is just a rip off).
Evanescence doesn't sound at all like Lacuna Coil to me. I adore Ev but don't like LC. Evanescence sounds significantly darker and sadder (which is why I like it so much), and they have a very different texture, and they actually have some classical elements (particularly in "Lacrymosa"), whereas LC does not. To me, Lacuna Coil sounds more like H.I.M. (similar-sounding guitars) and Nightwish (just without opera vocals and symphonic elements), and Evanescence sounds more like Within Temptation (though WT isn't as sad or dark). I guess it just goes to show that everyone listens to music differently.
