Obviously, homo sapiens (which ironically means wise man) committed genocide on these highly intelligent humans out of of fear and hatred.

Well maybe not, but it they were anything like the homo sapiens of today, they surely would have.

Intelligence isn't really necessary for survival as a species. Look at cockroaches, they've been around longer than dinosaurs, they'll be around after we're all dead, and their intelligence is quite low. They're insects, pretty much everything they do is just out of instinct and not because they've learned how.

When I was a kid I used to hear all the time that dinosaurs were big stupid beasts with tiny brains, and yet they survived for tens of millions of years. Even as a kid that made me think that maybe humans are doomed to wipe each other out because we were intelligent. After all, when dinosaurs were lords of the earth there weren't any nukes or machine guns or factories poisoning the air and water because they never even invented the wheel.

But sometime in the 90s, about the time Jurassic Park came out, I started hearing that dinosaurs weren't really as dim-witted as previously thought. But I'm sure they didn't have genocidal wars or elect a big fat orange T Rex as leader of the supercontinent.

The article raises more questions than it answers.

"Obviously" is not so obvious as are speculation and assumption.

It's like God was considering: Hm... Nah, I'll stick with the base model."
