What did you give as Christmas gifts for others?

Did you buy something for someone, or did you do something for someone?

I gave Christmas presents for three people this year.

One was a random person for a dirty Santa party. I gave an old-fashioned steel microscope with 50 prepared slides for a budding microbiologist.

The second was a lady out at work down on her luck. I contributed to a gift card to a grocery store because I think she needs better luck.

The last was my brother and his wife, and I went to the grocery store for his gift, because everyone in this world loves food, there is nobody that is going to stop eating or find the gift of food objectionable in any way.

I bought a big bag o' nuts because we have significant mental illness in our family and are a little bit nuts. Almonds, pecans, cashews, Virginia peanuts, mixed nuts, sunflower seeds, every type of nut known to Man that I could find and some chocolate-covered nuts as well.

I also bought two toys. One is a folding toy that you can make things with. It is like hard cardboard, but very tiny when folded into a cube. I forget what they call it, some Japanese name. The other is a hollow plastic orb that flies or hovers, I forget which, but I was impressed that it could defy gravity and think that my brother will be too.

I did not buy my cats presents, but that is only fair because they did not buy me presents, either. I am sure it is because I misbehaved this year, that is the only reason. However, I will crack open a can of kippers for each of them on Christmas Day as their treat.

My partner got herself two gifts for me to give be her as she knows how agitated I get about procuring presents.
I searched eBay and auction houses for a surprise but everything I wanted to get her I couldn't justify expense wise from communal from new.
I ended up getting her a Bluetooth adapter for her car because it's something I would use when I drove it. So... She gets me presents to give her and I get presents for me to give her.
There is a kind of twisted rotational symmetry in this.

I gave some cosmetics to my first cousin and some washing powders plus a clock to my uncle this year All the presents I gave them, were my contest winnings.

I got Laura Secord hot chocolate for my mum, sister and niece. I got Mini Turtles for my dad and Spitz sunflower seeds for my brother-in-law.
