Hello, my name is Jeremy and I am from Michigan. I am 32 years old and am twice diagnosed with autism and ADHD. I also have major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. I am glad to have found you all and to be here. The clinicians who have diagnosed me have said that I am level 1 ASD for social communication and level 1 for restricted and repetitive behaviors, activities, and interests but I feel like I am level 2 for social communication much of the time. I know the levels are not necessarily set in stone throughout life but at least there is context for what is going on. I have reached the point where I am ready to do some deep discovery into my autistic profile and understand more. I am at peace with the diagnosis am willing to learn and grow from here. Happy New Year! :D

Always better to know than not know and wonder why, what, how and so on.
Happy New Year!

Welcome to WP! And to the Autism Spectrum...where I live; ADHD, however, is where my bride lives.

Having Autism and ADHD in the same house is sometimes interesting.
The thought of having them in the same head, however... 8O

I hope you like WP!

Hi Sparkly and welcome to WP.
(Hope you don't mind the abbreviated handle. I love Neurosparkly but even that is long enough to get shortened to NS in here.)

Howdy Howdy Howdy

I used to have some good friends from Michigan.

One of the best went to Michigan Tech in Houghton. He used to tell me about getting something like five or six feet of snow a year. I have often wanted to go spend a year there just to see that much snow in one year.

Have a Happy New Year.

AuDHDNeurosparkly, Welcome to Wrong Planet.

You wrote, "I am ready to do some deep discovery into my autistic profile and understand more."

So perhaps the first point I can make is There are many other people like you. If you look very deeply, very very deeply around you, you may be able to find them. They are generally hidden off to one side. They normally don't talk a lot, but if you find them and listen, they are very good people. They can become your friends.

Around 50 percent of the population are introverts and the other 50 percent are extroverts. Extroverts recharge their bodies by joining a group of people. When they feel depressed they have the ability to get back to normal. They find other extroverts and talk and talk and talk and before lone, they are back to feeling good.

But introverts are very different. They need some alone time. They find a corner to be alone. They might read a book or play a video game or play music and slowly, very slowly their bodies are recharged and they are able to get back into the game.

But there is an interesting thing about introverts. They can find and make good lifetime friends. They can form good friends with other introverts. But they must be brave and look for them in out of the way places. They live all around you. But you must go forth and find them.
