to be honest I'm not sure how I feel about this. should it change how I view/treat myself?
I'd suggest reading up about the
Autism Spectrum and then answer that question for yourself.
When I got my diagnosis I was delighted to understand myself better. And, it was really nice knowing that it wasn't my imagination,
most people really are messed up!. But I was 64 and happily retired, my diagnosis hasn't had much practical benefit. I just kept on being me.
I have tried to get my medical practitioners to adjust what they do to
adjust for my diagnosis but they don't seem interested.
However, one success! Whenever my bride bumps up against one of my Autistic traits I get to say:
"I have a doctor's note for that!"
