A rare sight is coming at the end of January 2025. Six planets - Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Saturn and Venus will create an arc in the evening sky. This event will be visible into February. The six planets will be visible in the days immediately leading up to January 21, and for about four weeks afterward. Mars, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn should be visible to the naked eye.
A friend of mine brought this to my attention. He posed an interesting question. Some people are equating this to a cataclysmic event. An alignment of planets could pose an interesting magnetic field in our solar system. Gravitation pull might produce destructive forces on Earth. He then lead to an event currently happening in Kilauea Volcano eruption that is happening in Hawaii.
My mind is too fried by a massive stroke in my brain to provide much insight. But any time someone discusses an end of world cataclysm event about to unfold, it seems like others might provide better insight. PLANETARY GRAVITY

I think for this theory to have any traction, one would have to focus on the mass of each of the planets, primarily the largest planets: Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus at 1898, 568, 102, 86.8 times 10 to the 24 power kg. respectively.

According to one website StarWalk, Planetary alignments are beautiful celestial events that you can observe without special equipment. The next large planetary alignment is coming on January 21, and the next great one will take place on February 28.

So to look at the effect we have four large planets aligned on one side and the very massive Sun on the other side and Earth in the middle being pulled apart from both ends.

So what type of events might an alignment cause. Earthquakes and volcanoes come to mind.
So far in 2025 the Earth has experienced 2 major earthquakes thus far.
These were a 7.1 earthquake that occurred in Southern Tibetan Plateau on January 7 and a 6.8 earthquake near Miyazaki, Japan on January 13.
There has also been several volcanoes reported during January 1 - 7, 2025. These were: -- Ahyi Seamount underwater volcano located near the island Farallon de Pajaros in the northern Marianas. (20.42°N, 145.03°E | Summit elev. -75 m) -- Dieng Volcanic Complex, Indonesia near Sileri Crater. (7.2°S, 109.879°E | Summit elev. 2565 m) -- Fentale, Ethiopia (8.985°N, 39.906°E | Summit elev. 2007 m) -- Home Reef, Tonga underwater volcano (18.992°S, 174.775°W | Summit elev. -10 m) -- Kilauea, Hawaii, United States, (19.421°N, 155.287°W | Summit elev. 1222 m) -- Poas, Costa Rica, (10.2°N, 84.233°W | Summit elev. 2697 m)
This is in addition to ongoing activity in 21 volcanoes.

Iceland's second-largest volcano may be about to wake up after a near-decade-long slumber following a "swarm" of seismic activity this week.
Approximately 130 earthquakes were recorded at Bárðarbunga, Iceland's second-largest volcano, on Tuesday, according to the Icelandic Met Office (IMO). The swarm is the most significant since the sleeping giant last erupted in 2014.
Seismic activity around Iceland's Bárðarbunga volcano has increased dramatically, with over 130 earthquakes recorded within a span of five hours. The tremors, which began early on January 14, included a significant 5.1 magnitude quake. The Bárðarbunga system is among Iceland's largest volcanic zones, and experts are closely monitoring the situation for potential eruptions, particularly given the region's history of powerful volcanic activity. Its most recent eruption, from 2014 to 2015, was the country's largest in over 300 years.
According to the Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO), as reported by Live Science, Bárðarbunga is an expansive system extending roughly 190 kilometres in length. Its central stratovolcano, largely covered by ice, is marked by a massive caldera filled with a glacier. This region's eruptions have historically been significant, with lava fields forming vast expanses such as Holuhraun, the result of the 2014 event. That eruption not only created a lava field larger than Manhattan but also released considerable amounts of toxic gas into the atmosphere.
At the moment the Earth is being stretched apart by gravitational forces between the Sun on one side and the other large planets on the other side. So this might get interesting.

I think you're greatly over-estimating the amount of force the planets gravitational pulls are capable of exerting on earth Jimmy. If we're to believe this alignment is responsible for an uptick in seismic activity, one should be able to demonstrate that an uptick has indeed occurred (for starters).

How anyone can believe this old "we're all doomed I tell ye, doomed!" chestnut is a mystery to me - and especially as this isn't the first time it's happened.
