Struggling With Social Media

Today I had a struggle connecting with someone on Social Media.
Someone said a compliment to me in messaging, I took it too literally thinking the worst about me.
It stunned me in the worst way having me run away from them wanting to disconnect out of fear.
It was like I struuggle with small talk becuase someone was offended that I took things too literally.
I hope I can get over it.
I just want to connect to people more and stop being a loner.
