Hi, I'm Mystical, and am new to the forum.

I was diagnosed very late in life (63) and there doesn't seem to be any support anywhere. As a result of the late diagnosis I also suffer from depression and anxiety.

I would just like to connect with some other like-minded Aspies.

Mystical, Welcome to Wrong Planet.

I looked a little deeper. You are a music teacher and your special interest are music, reading, crafts.

So it sounds like you found the right place. You wrote that you are suffering from depression and anxiety. That is a common problem for many of us. I have found a couple of things that might help remove this from your body. The two elements required are sleep and exercise.

As we get older, these elements can be more difficult to achieve. I am 76 years old and generally I walk a mile each day. But I walk up and down a steep hill. It is very good exercise that stresses different muscles in my body. Sometimes I will travel to town and go to the YMCA and swim a mile. It takes around 2 hours of swimming. The body needs about an hour of exercise each day to keep you healthy.

The other component is sleep. Sleep is really important especially deep sleep (REM and deep NREM sleep). As we get older it can be very hard for us to get good sleep. We only achieve a very light stage of sleep. About 50 years ago I bought a water bed and I fall into the deep stages of sleep quickly. Sleep repairs my mind and helps keep my brain alive.

I suspect that I have provided too much information. But I am an old timer and that is what I do.

Hi, Mystical. I’m new too. :) I have had difficulty finding resources for older adults on the autism spectrum as well. It’s nice to have a place to talk with others.

Welcome to WP! I hope you find it to be comfortable place to frequent.

P.S. I was diagnosed a few days before my 65th birthday and am now 70. And I suspect that if you got as far as you did before you were diagnosed then you are either resilient or determined enough to do OK. (I'm hard-headed.) Though I concede the Autistic life might have some discomfort and unhappiness included.
