When should I stop thinking things over?

I don't why but it reminds me of the quote from Jack Torrance from the film the Shining to his wife "you've had your all f**king life to think things over!" I seem to think I take too long to think about things that I worry about. I seem to feel as though in your 30s I should stop thinking about things in life whereas in your 20s you've got plenty of time to think about it.
