weird dreams...

i have been having so many dreams about fictional characters, here's a list of all the characters i dreamt about in total

* chell and glados from portal
* edgar and miles from electric dreams
* the mercs from tf2
* the headmates from chonny's charming chaos compendium
* hotrod from transformers, but.... not
* the mane 6 from my little pony

can't remember a lot of them, but i know theres more... anyway, anyone else have an unreasonable amount of dreams involving fictional characters?

These are the characters that I see in my dreams.

The entire cast of Hogan's Heroes except for Schultz, because I'm Schultz in those dreams
All 4 of The Monkees as they were in the 60s
The entire cast of The Waltons
Austin Powers
The cast of Murdoch Mysteries
Reggie from Call the Midwife
The Muppets

I seem to dream about the Muppets a lot. I don't know if it's because I really like the Muppets and they were an icon of my childhood, or if it's something a lot deeper, especially when the dreams turn out creepy or disturbing.

For example, the last dream I had about Muppets (TW: Plushophillia) I seemed to be a kid again, watching The Muppet Show on TV and I had a doll of Bert from Sesame Street. And then a close relative of mine (I won't say who because just thinking about it is disturbing and totally not something they would do) took the doll and pleasured himself with it. I saw some stains on the doll and I got disgusted and furious and started screaming at them. And then I woke up screaming.

I've also had dreams where I'm watching a Disney cartoon, usually it's The Little Mermaid, and then suddenly I hear one of the characters swearing. Like saying words that are very Un-Disney. and I'm shocked and freaked out. I know if any other kid or child free adult heard the language their reaction would be to feel utter delight and to start laughing, but not me.

I wonder if these kinds of dreams are due to the fact that many people have now taken taken everything that was cute, wholesome, or "fun for the whole family" and turned it into a hypersexualized, creepy, fetishy, childhood murdering pile of trash. Noting but pure ugliness, I hate it, things will never be the same again.
