Are you familiar with how significant the Indo-Canadian population is?

Quote:
During the late 20th and into the early 21st century, India was the third highest source country of immigration to Canada, with roughly 25,000–30,000 Indians immigrating to Canada each year according to Statistics Canada data. India became the highest source country of immigration to Canada by 2017, with yearly permanent residents increasing from 30,915 in 2012 to 85,585 in 2019, representing 25% of total immigration to Canada. Additionally, India also became the top source country for international students in Canada, rising from 48,765 in 2015 to 219,855 in 2019. Mirroring historical Indo-Canadian migration patterns, the majority of new immigrants from India continue to hail from Punjab.

Two major parties in Canada are sympathetic to the Khalistan movement. Losing the Tories would mean all three major parties are sympathetic.

Canada has a higher (proportional) population of Sikhs than India does. 2.12% vs. 1.72%.

The Indian government has also murdered people on Canadian soil.

Nationalist Sikhs are not hindus and don't consider themselves Indian. the Indian government has nothing to do with this.

This whole thread is about the Indian government having everything to do with this.

In what universe would the a government support an ethnic separatist faction from their country in an overseas country? I know a thing or two about the Indian people who dominate in Canada. After prime minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by a sikh separatist, the Indian government organised a pogrom against sikhs killing thousands, many further thousands fled to Canada as refugees. these people make up a strong pro-Punjab, Pro-Sikh and pro-Khalistan element and make up the majority of the overseas Indian population living in Canada.

Claiming this segment of Canada's population is secretly supported by India is like claiming overseas Palestianian groups are being covertly funded by Netanyahu. It's patently ignorant.

Good thing no one has claimed that CD.

What's being claimed is that India has interfered in opposition to those groups and their potential influence, not in favour of them.
