Hey

Not yet diagnosed, but referred to psychiatrist. I already know all too well.

Lost everything & everyone. Family in denial.

I'm relieved and incredibly disheartened simultaneously. So much makes sense now. Only to me, though.

Anyway, I'm looking to see if I can fit in somewhere. I would love to experience understanding. I don't think I've had that yet. I've been looking for my people for 40 years.

Anyone around?

Sometimes I need to be on someone else's left shoulder, encouraging them to do something instead.

CognitiveDelirium, Welcome to Wrong Planet.

So you are from Kansas City, Missouri.

It sounds like a nice location to live.

You wrote, "I'm looking to see if I can fit in somewhere. I would love to experience understanding. I don't think I've had that yet."

Well actually this is a very interesting question. Humans are much more complex then most people know. That is because we have multiple brains. We have two different beings within us. One exist on the left side of our skull and the other on the right side. I am guessing that you are a right side dominant daytime brain.

I don't think so, but who really knows.

Welcome to WP! I knew almost nothing about Autism, though I had seen fragments of commercials for Rain Man [1988] and, based upon that, would've denied being Autistic. Then in 2019 circumstances persuaded me to to investigate the issue a little more deeply...then I was officially diagnosed Autism Spectrum Disorder, Level 1 (Mild), with a note that I also satisfy the criteria previously associated with Asperger's Syndrome.

The diagnosis was a wonderful revelation! The previous six decades made so much more sense!

I can't say my diagnosis has had much practical value, however. Two benefits come to mind:
1. Wrong Planet!
2. When my bride bumps up against a symptom related to the diagnosis, I get to say:
"I have a doctor's note for that!" :D

But, nonetheless, I'm glad I found Wrong Planet and visit it often. I hope you do also.

I'm guessing my story will [and does] look much like yours, only sooner in my life. Thank you for the support!

Hi!

I was early 40s when I first found out I was autistic. I've been going for two years now, making realizations about so many things in my past. Whenever I think I'm done, boom! new realization.

So far, auties are my people. Hope you feel you feel good here :)
