Unequivocal evidence for dating Out of Africa
Over the last decade there has been a concerted effort by archaeologists across the US, Europe and China to overturn the "Out of Africa" theory of human migration. Dating of Homo Sapiens fossils in Australia range up to 60,000 years and in Indonesia and China up to 80,000 years. But discoveries in north Africa and the Mediterranean suggest homo Sapiens may have left Africa as much as 300,000 years ago. these discoveries have begun a opposition to the question whether homo sapiens really evolved in Africa at all and whether they evolved outside? Europe or even Asia and then returned to Africa.

Scepticism is healthy so rather than look at the motivation for these alternative theories let the science do the talking.
Recently two journal articles independently looking at dates for when neanderthal genes entered our human genome looking at both mitochondrial and Y-Chromosome DNA from male and female lineages coincidentally came up with exactly the same date that neanderthal DNA entered human genome - 47,000 - 40,000 years ago.
What is shocking is that the DNA markers indicate
a) all humans outside of Africa come from a small population migrating out of Africa between 47-40,000 years ago
b) this population contain the same DNA profile of Human and Neanderthal DNA that is found in every single human population on the planet outside of Africa.
the fact the two studies come from the most complete ancient human genomes ever sequenced and the fact they came up with identical dates make the DNA based data difficult to ignore. Humans who are as diverse as Australian aborigines and Eskimoes, pacific islanders and Europeans are all genetically from one small recent bottleneck of Africans. It's quite remarkable that in such a short time period human beings can manifest such diverse phenotypes.
