Hi my name is nicky, i am 44 and i always had a love for photography, but i have not picked up my actual camera in a couple of years. Its hard, the older i get the more isolated i am becoming, i dont really have any friends and would have always loved to have a photography buddy but its never come about, i went from photographing people to completely leaving that behind and stilling to animals as its less stressful with anixery and autism, but now i dont do anything, i have lost the love for everything outside of the house.

i go to work i get metal drained i come home and there isn't any energy left for anything else at all and its so sad. i am sat in my garden today as no work and sitting here watching the birds and thinking when was the last time i made the effort to get my camera out and when i come to realise that it had been well over a year or more :-(.

i would love to rekindle my love for photography and would love to meet some like minded people are there anyone here that would like to be my friend? even just to message one and other help with tips and understand one and others stresses in live , i hope this finds at lest one people who understands and would like to connect.

thank you for taking the time to read i am dyslexic also so please forgive any eorrors

nicky .

I'm kind of in a similar position. I'm in my 40s, stopped doing a lot of things I used to like, and pretty much stay home the majority of the time. I'm trying to get back to them slowly. PM me if you would like!

weebo1980, Welcome to Wrong Planet.

This is not good. You are too young to experience this trauma.

Wrong Planet is here. So feel free to expand your mind and grow.

It sounds like you are in a rut. There are two things to repair your rut. These are sleep and exercise.

I will start with exercise. Your body needs at least 30 minutes of strenuous exercise each day. This is important. Generally I get my exercise by walking up and down a step hill each day. It provides me with two types of exercise. Sometimes I will go to the YMCA and swim a mile. I am 76 years old and I can still swim a mile. Exercise each day will help restore your body.

The second part is sleep. You need sleep but not just normal light sleep but rather a very deep form of sleep called REM and deep NREM sleep. This can be very hard for us as we age. One tool I might recommend is a heated waterbed. My wife talked me into getting one over 50 years ago on our honeymoon, and it was a great decision. Make your bedroom an ideal sleep state and repair your body each night with good deep sleep.

When I was a teenager, I took a class in photography. It was a beautiful skill, a very complex skill to have back then. Nowadays almost everyone can take good photographs, very easily and with high quality results.

You might also join a club such as the Camera Club. The Camera Club is one of the longest-running photographic societies in the world, founded in 1885 in the U.K.

Welcome to WP! I hope you like it here.

My experience it is that the more interested I am in something the easier it is to put more effort into it. Can you vary photography in a way that adds interest value?
