Scepticism is a critical part of the scientific method. the problem is where no logical explanations exist and scientists steeped in dogma feel compelled to attack theories that propose inevitable ontological shifts and will even propose counter-theories that put themselves in a corner.

One of the stupidest is the current convention for how Easter Islanders moved the Moai statues in Easter Island

Just one minor problem
the statues are actually up to 200 metric tonnes each and most of the structure is buried under the sand. What angers me is conventional archaeology not only ignore the actual data, they might be spreading misinformation to hide how impossible it would be for stone age hunters to move 200 metric tonne stones.
