Hurtful remark over the phone!

Yesterday, 4:24 pm

Last weekend I had a night out in Oxford with my 27 year old male friend. We didn’t have much success in hooking up but my mate did try to get these 2 19 year old girls back to our hotel.

When he called them up later that night/early morning they said “I am not coming back to the hotel if your 35 year old friend (me) is there.”

Would your confidence be destroyed if you heard a remark like that over the phone? :(

A fifteen plus year age gap can be a deal breaker for some people, when there is the possibility of an intimate situation at hand.

19 year olds typically think of 35 year olds as 'old'.

You seem to want to offer excuses for why you're entitled to have teenagers be into you, instead of accepting that most of them consider you too old to be of interest.

It’s more like borderline teenager on the cusp of early adult

I know one guy who is 70 that is married a woman that is in her late 40s by the way and they also have a daughter together. Age is not always that relevant.

Then maybe that's a more productive place to try to find interested younger ladies, instead of places where they're not interested.

I'm not even judging if you'd prefer a much younger partner, I'm just judging getting offended by younger people not reciprocating your interest. You gotta know when you're barking up the wrong tree and move on instead of blaming the tree.

It's literally in the name. Teen. If their age includes teen, they're a teenager.

Also, you realize that while those cases exist, they're also rare. You're pointing to a single outlier like it should be the norm and it's simply not.

I am not totally stupid I understand really that going to nightclubs at my age is a waist of time. However you might get some 20 year olds who are into older men you never know.

Younger women really do look much better compared to older ladies don’t they?

With that in mind, don't take it too personally if women in their late teens or early 20s don't reciprocate your interest. There might be ones who would, but they're not that common so you should assume a lack of interest and if you find one who's interested, appreciate that as the rare exception.

Well if you think about it 20-25 vs 35 is only a good 10 year age gap.

Is not that massive of a difference in the grand scheme of things.
