It's funny that someone mentioned this topic. I get crushes on "weird" girls sometimes, although I like some mainstream girls as well. For instance, one time, I ended up having a conversation with this girl on a train. She was wearing a hair decoration of some sorts, a T-shirt with an artistic graphic on the front, and carried a backpack with numerous buttons and badges on it. Overall, she had an artsy/hippie vibe, in a good way. Judging from how comfortably she talked to me, she was probably NT, but her outlook on life seemed aspie-like. For instance, she said she hates cars, complained how daily life becoming increasingly dehumanized, mentioned the book Brave New World (which I already read), talked about how our society hates people who are different, and even offered me some Gummy Worms.
Most people who stood within hearing range had weirded-out looks on their faces, which only proved what she told me. Nonetheless, something about her seems to have struck a very pleasant chord with me. She wasn't the physical type I'm normally attracted to, but I was amazed at how easily I could understand her beliefs. I was going ask for her phone number (ironically, I didn't feel nervous about doing that), but she mentioned her boyfriend (while talking about the few people she could relate to) at one point during the train ride. Now it's been over a week since it happened, but I still find myself thinking about her. That girl reminded me that there are people out there who still are tolerant of differences.
