Further to the other thread has anyone noticed their eye contact has got worse since they found out about AS. I think the knowledge has made me more sensitive to making eye contact, I'm more aware I find eye contact hard, it just makes my heart thump like a mad man!

Not me. Since learning I had AS I've been practicing making eye contact, and I think I'm getting better at it.

it could be that you are more aware of it or social anxiety

I'm the same as beyondtheinfinite. Since learning about it, I've spent a lot of effort to improve my use of eye contact, especially in contexts where it might be particularly important. I do think this has resulted in some improvement.

Mixed. I found a lot of my traits getting
worse, for a bit. Even started paying attention
to toe walking, and doing it more often, enjoying
it.

But, I'm a bit less concerned now, and just
try and be aware, so that I can fake it, as
I always did. Plus, I'm getting better at
purposefully initiating certain kinds of
non-verbal contact. I know now that
staring into someone's eyes is just
as bad as looking away.

Knowing about AS has made me far more conscious of what I do, but eye contact is still a huge issue. I had been faking it for years, but now know why, so I am faking it even more. Oh well!

Knowing about AS has made me better at eye contact, except when it comes to talking to hot girls!

You'll have more success looking into their eyes then staring at their chest.

I feel your pain. I try so hard to keep eye contact but it hasn't gotten any better for me. I look in their eyes for a few seconds and then glance away quickly, giving me a "flitty-eyed" look. I can hold eye contact for a while with teachers and authority figures, but with friends and peers it's really hard.

I think that eye contact can be hard for people with or without AS.

I also believe that if you practice looking at yourself more in the mirror you can help yourself (especially if you have AS) improve your eye contact with other people.

Whenever I talk to someone face to face, I imagine that in that moment i'm looking into a mirror and i'm wearing a costume, but then I have to remind myself that it's not me and i'm talking to someone else.

Eye contact has always been hard. Even with close friends/family I can't do it.
