So lately I've been wanting to start and play in my own band. However, everyone else sucks. The only drummer in this town has no idea what a time signature is, and the other guitarists all claim to love math-rock but they know absolutely no music theory whatsoever. SO, the only real solution is to "be the band" and record all my parts seperately and fuse them together into songs.
Does anyone know of a good recording/editing program that is:
-Easy to use
-Able to run at least 4 tracks at the same time
-Has a built in drum machine (this is critical so don't say Audacity)
-Is designed for solo artists doing this sort of thing, not for making techno or whatever.
I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me out here. I know there are a lot of solo musicians on WP who may use something like this. I want to create instrumental power metal/progressive metal which incorporates classical concepts and lots of advanced techniques. Everyone else in this town wants to whank around in a garage and play smells like teen spirit. Please help me out so I don't have to resort to jamming with those guys.
If you must record to a computer, Cubase is what you want if you have the cash for it.
