I'm not a guy who is particularly passionate when it comes to horror, but Hellraiser is one of the few horror films that I've genuinely
enjoyed. I really enjoyed the imagery and how the story was written. So much so, that I've been meaning to read some of his novels and short stories, and I'm curious as to which of his stuff I should read first, assuming someone here is familiar with his stories.

I've been curious about his stuff for a while but haven't gotten the courage to look into it. I saw his "Tortured Souls" action figures at McFarlane toys and they disturbed the living s**t out of me, and Hellraiser might also be too much for me given how much I'm bothered by S&M, but I might give it a shot sometime. As a horror author myself it'd probably be good for me.

Clive Barker is awesome.

If you liked the Hellraiser movie, read the novella Hellbound Heart. It has a slightly different take on the story but I loved it.

Clive likes to think of himself as a Dark Fantasy writer rather than Horror. If you read some of his stuff you'll see why. Check out The Great and Secret Show, Weaveworld and when you've got some time and have adjusted to his style, read Imajica.

Incidentally, they are remaking the original Hellraiser movie soon. Clive has written the script, but isn't directing this time around.

I think his Coldheart Canyon is very underrated. I recommend it to everyone who likes books.

I used to read the books along with Stephen King all the time. Before that was Goosebumps, which made me addicted to reading when I was little

Have you guys heard of "Jericho"?

I don't think Jericho looks so good. The gameplay videos at gametrailers haven't looked scary at all...

I've played the demo version of it. Its actually pretty good. Not game of the year material, but its a cool game that I think I'll buy somewhere down the road.

I have read The damnation game, the thief of always, and the great and secret show. They are all very good, but I the Damnation Game I simply loved. I also have the books of blood omnibus, but I have only read a few stories out of it. Also, most of his work is not horror, it is dark fantasy, or fantasy with horror elements. The damnation game is great for his horror, and the hellbound heart (hellraiser was based on this one) is supposed to be good too.
