As the title says. Celebrate your favourite fictional characters.

Yuna, as a character, is inspiring. She just keeps going with her will to destroy Sin, no matter what is thrown at her, and in the knowledge that she will not survive the Final Summoning.

Born in Bevelle and brought up on the island of Besaid, at the start of Final Fantasy X, Yuna is a reserved, intelligent and serious girl whose formal attire contrasts sharply with Tidus' more outgoing appearance. Yuna is a summoner of Yevon and has the ability to summon powerful creatures known as "aeons". She is mild in demeanor and soft-spoken, but harbors no doubt in herself or in her mission to destroy Sin, and usually manages to conceal any feelings of sadness from others. She is also half-Al Bhed on her mother's side, and consequently has heterochromatic irises: one blue and one green. (Note the characteristic eyes of the Al Bhed: green eyes with spiral pupils, as displayed by Yuna's cousin Rikku.)

As a summoner, Yuna travels across Spira to end the threat the malevolent force Sin poses to her world, aided by her aeons, and even more so by her guardians, whose duty it is to protect her along her journey. Yuna begins her pilgrimage across Spira with three guardians: Kimahri Ronso, who took care of her after she was orphaned; Lulu, who treats her as a younger sister; and Wakka, with whom — along with Lulu — she has been close friends since childhood. After Tidus arrives in Besaid, she takes him as her fourth guardian, and later, Auron — who was also guardian to her father — becomes her fifth. Finally, Yuna's maternal cousin Rikku becomes Yuna's sixth and final guardian shortly after Tidus and Wakka thwart her attempt to kidnap Yuna with an underwater machina.

During the course of the game, Yuna is forced to grow in character. She becomes battle-hardened and her Yevonite beliefs are shaken and eventually shattered. Furthermore, her ever-growing relationship with Tidus causes her to question her quest, and think more for herself.[4] This is evident when she is composing the video sphere she intends for her friends and guardians to view after her death- she confesses that the thought of not being with Tidus scares her.

Image

The Ronso credit her as having a will "stronger than the strongest Ronso steel", such is their respect and admiration for her. A very awe inspiring character, you grow to respect and admire her courage and selflessness as the story goes on.

Yuna is one of the best characters I have ever come across in a game in terms of personality and goodwill.

Max Galactica

Age: 21

Occupation: Magician

Series: Phoenix Wright (specifically Justice for All)

Background: A famous magician who works at the Berry Big Circus, where he is a master at creating the illusion of flight. He also enjoys doing card tricks for people. He was the defendant of the Turnabout Big Top case, but his name was cleared when one of the other circus performers was discovered to be the real murderer.

Why I like him: He's very flamboyant and campy, which I think makes him a lot of fun. He's got an ego the size of Texas, but he really is a good guy. Most of the other Phoenix Wright fans think he is either annoying or gay, but he's one of my all-time favorites.

Image

Ron Delite

Age: 23

Occupation: Former security guard

Series: Phoenix Wright (specifically Trials & Tribulations)

Background: He was the defendant of the Stolen Turnabout case, but his name was cleared when someone else was found guilty. He is married to a woman named Desiree (whom he saved from thugs while on the job). She has very expensive tastes, which is why Ron invented his thieving alter ego, Mask DeMasque.

Why I like him: Even though I haven't played Trials & Tribulations yet, I can already tell Ron is going to be one of my favorites. Based on his sprites and what I know of his personality, he seems like a really sweet guy. Although he's married in the game, I often pair him off with Max in my head and in my drawings since they are my top favorites.

They look like pretty memorable characters.

Ah, a fellow Yuna fan. I will post more soon.

No-one else want to post a little bit about their favourite characters? :?

The heros of my postcyberpunk book. What I think they look like:

Jaya - decent hacker
Image

Lamia - lost girl
Image

Set - robotic engineer
Image

and Yun - model and one of the best hackers

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chani

Paul Atreides and Chani are two of the more interesting characters in the Dune series of novels, where what seems like merely predestined love becomes a relationship that remains strong, even as they become heads of a galactic empire, and suffer all the intrigue and plots that go with it. While Paul, through betrayal and hardship, is forced to grow up quickly into a leader of men, Chani herself has to realise that if you love someone, you may have to give them up for something greater. Chani meets a tragic end at the end of Dune Messiah, giving birth to twin children, while Paul, blinded by a special type of atomic weapon, banishes himself to the desert, only to return to pull down the myth of his own messiahdom in Children of Dune, and die at the hands of a priest of his own 'religion'. The two are revived as clones in the last two books of the series, and despite the hardships involved, a suitable end awaits them.

(More to come....)

I never thought Chani was all that, but Paul kicks ass.

X3 for the McManus brothers, and a bonus shout out to their Dad.

Red XIII and Auron seconded, with the addition of Zell.

Can't post any of my own 'cos I'd be here all day.

Alot of good characters so far. 8)

Dr. Daniel Jackson in Stargate is a very remarkable character.

Image

Dr. Daniel Jackson is an only child and an orphan. His maternal grandfather and only living relative, Nick Ballard, lives on another planet with giant aliens ("Crystal Skull"). Daniel's parents, Melbourne and Claire Jackson, also archaeologists, were crushed while supervising the placement of a piece of Egyptian art in the Metropolitan Museum of Art ("The Gamekeeper"). His grandfather abandoned him after the funeral. Though placed in foster care, Jackson visited his grandfather in a mental institution until they had an argument over Daniel's failing career and Daniel left.

Daniel is an archaeologist and linguist who speaks more than twenty-three languages ("1969") (in another episode, the number is given as twenty-seven ("200"); on-screen, he has been shown speaking English, Ancient Egyptian, Spanish, Russian, Mandarin Chinese and German, as well as Goa'uld, Ancient, and Unas (which he decoded).

He is a very honourable and goodwilled character, and also very good at Archaeology, Languages, and Ancient History. His respect for other cultures, intelligence, and selflessness, is very admirable.

He has PhDs in Archaeology, Anthropology and Philology, and has explored the Galaxy far and wide.
