grumpy old bastard. I didn't like him one bit. I know, cold, callous, whatever but the man was an a-hole.

Yeah, you posted this here for a reason, huh?

Hope you're doing okay.

I've seen that even when a family member who has died wasn't outwardly well-liked, it still leaves a wound of sorts.

Sometimes it's just that the survivors feel like they never got their chance to make the deceased understand what they were feeling all this time... pain, ignored, belittled, whatever.

I don't know what you're going through now Digger, but I hope you get it worked out.

he was abusive. He liked to watch me towel off after a bath or a shower. He frequently called me a freak. Whenever we drove by the Maine Youth Center, he said that someday I'll wind up there. When I was at his place for a stay, he used to like to take surreptitious pictures of me doing stuff and then threaten to show them to my father. I remember hearing the shutter click but him not being there and all I was doing was cleaning a picnic table with formula 409 and began to thing that was wrong because he took a picture and asked me if I wanted my father to see it.

So, cleaning is wrong?

May he burn.

Did you ever confront him as an adult?

Your odd behavior likely made him suspect you were the victim of child abuse. He likely only looked at you a few random times naked to check your body for obvious signs of physical abuse. The threats of you ending up at the MYC were likely based on his observation of your behavior. He may very well been an ass but I think your holding him to an unrealistically high standard that I bet you do not live up to either.

Wow! You're quite amazing figuring out all that just by the little bit of information posted here! :D

Seriously, I find it difficult to think anyone can come up with the most likely explanation for things like he described his grandfather doing ... just too many variables which we aren't privy to.

Uh, no.

He got frustrated that I took too long in the bathroom and stormed in yelling at me and threw a towel at me and watched me dry off. Sick f**k.

Oh, he used to like to lay on his bed completely naked with the door wide open.

He didn't like it when I slept with my socks on. Somehow he knew I did. I think he came in during the night to look at me in bed.

If your like most kids you visited your grandfather alot more during the summer. So its natural he being a nudist would beable to practice his lifestyle during the warm summer months.

Care to elaborate on your knowledge of these things?

Or,

are you just baiting folks for fun?

No merely demonstrating there can be logical explanations for things. Does not matter if the ones I offer are true. His perceptions of his grandfather are likely highly distorted.

The quote about his grandfather snapping photo's of him. Kind of strikes me as paranoia. A person with an interest in photography would naturally want to take surprise pictures of his grandson. The joke of showing a photo to his dad was viewed as a threat in the mind of a paranoid. But to a normal person having a grandparent joke about showing a bad photo of you to your parents would be something to smile about.
