Most online forums have some kind of ongoing silly game that members play. Some members use it to increase their post count; others use it just for fun. Anyway, it's high time WrongPlanet.net had one of its own, so I proudly introduce the Game of Random Associations!
In the Game of Random Associations, participants choose one of the previous post's three associations to make three new associations of their own. Of course, sometimes two people will post at about the same time, and this means their associations may not necessarily come from the literal previous post's, but this is all right. When participants make their three associations, they base them off the three associations of the latest post they see when they begin typing their post. The reason it is three different associations is so that the previous poster will not be sure exactly where the next participant will take the game.
Example
- Post 1
- Black cat
- Riptide
- Thunderstorm
- Post 2
- African-American people
- Cat bowl
- Jack-o'-lantern
- Post 3
- Cat food
- Super Bowl
- Waterfall
Now I know many of you are more visuospatial thinkers than verbal-sequential thinkers, so I have made a cool-looking diagram to explain this game in pictures using the example associations.
