How many helium filled beach balls would it take to lift a semi large fish (roughly 60 lbs. give or take a few) out of the water and carry it through the air?

Why you ask?. . .I would like to see a flying fish. I've already figured out the method to pull it off. Just lack the ratio of helium filled beach balls per pound.

Anyone wanna take a shot at the solution?

I suggest you submit the question to the The Straight Dope ( http://www.straightdope.com/ ).

Do bear in mind that the poor fish would suffocate, though (unless you invent a breathing apparatus for fish while you're in Mad Scientist mode).

Well, we would likely need to know the fish density as in order to have a floating fish it must be less dense than air.

I was thinking of a smallerlish squid (no more than 60 pounds in weight). :lol: I can see the headlines-"Mile high calamari" :lol:
