Yes, they're extremely annoying. I often have to put my hand over them while reading messages to keep from becoming nauseous. It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so fast.

I don't have a problem with them.

I should clarify that I do think they're cool, but the motion makes me feel like I'm gonna vomit. It's quite unfortunate.

Extremely annoying, yes. I have to cover them with my hand. Some are cool, but I'd like them a lot more if they'd maybe do their thing and be done with it quickly. They remind me of the blinking banner ads on sites.

Me, too. And just like blinking/dancing/moving banner ads, I cover them or stop going to that page. I find them highly distracting and annoying. :x

They don't make me feel sick, or give me a headache, but I don't like them bc I find them distracting when I am trying to read a post. The flashing/moving keeps dragging my eyes away from the words which I find annoying.

I don't have too much of a problem with yours because it's subdued and rotating slowly. It's easier to ignore the motion.

I agree, some would be cool if they didn't repeat.

While blocking the image with my hand, I adblock anything that blinks, flashes, sparkles or whatever as soon as it appears. These things are seizure triggers for me and are *much* more than just annoying.

Yes, mostly. Some avatars are low-key & slow-motion, so I don't mind them. Have dial-up, am not interested in seeing moving images online-and they slow the loading time for page.
Blinking flashing ads annoy the - out of me, I scroll the page to avoid them or move the window to side of my computer screen so those parts are cut off.
Trying to look closely whie reading & being barraged by motion pictures induces my 'motion-sickness', which interefers with my ability to read (what I came here for).
