Personally, I don't understand the whole concept of the text messagers and walking around with a cellphone glued to your ear. When I go out, I don't want to be bothered. If I wanted to be on the phone or IMing someone I would be at home. Other then family emergency, what could be so earth shatteringly important that the person can't leave a message ask you to call them back when you get home?
I have a cellphone basically for emergencies and for my mother, who suffers from severe anxiety, to call me if she's having a rough time. It annoys the hell out of me when she does call, as mean as that sounds, but I can handle that. If someone called me just to tell me what movie they saw last night, the response would not be very friendly. I left the house because I wanted a change of scenery or needed to get something. Let me enjoy it and leave me the heck alone!

I agree. I cannot understand these people walking around, talking on phones everywhere - in the supermarket, in the library, on the bus, riding a bike, etc. Like you said, when I'm out of the house, I don't want to talk on the phone! Mine is basically an emergency phone. I used to have an account, and people would constantly call. I could barely hear them over the other outdoors sounds, and it would get frustrating.
