Wow, what complete and utter garbage. Rating appearance objectively?

The article really lost me after that.

To think in a positive and yet not entirely realistic manner is not a bad thing. An extreme in either direction can be problematic.

"Objective" was a poor choice of words, I agree.

Yet I think the idea behind the article is something too seldom discussed. I think there really is a strong link between contentment/sanity and delusion.

I like to think I'm one of the rare few who is brutally honest yet fairly happy...

It's possible, you just need to use that honesty to find humor in this absurd world, instead of reasons to go into a hole and cry...

Or maybe I really am delusional... :P

Of course. :) If I didn't have a sense of humor, I'd probably have a bullet in my brain.

Well, provided physics was on my side. More likely somebody'd just have been saddled with a rather sizable cleaning bill.

I'm not sure how honest humor is. But it's a pleasant distraction, like many others.

Sh*t! Reading that article is not a good idea when you're in a contemplative mood. :( I've always had this sense that my feeling of being cozy or content in this world is merely a mental facade meant to protect me from the harshness of ultimate reality. I think collectively humans beings have an exaggerated sense of self importance.

My BS meter just went all the way off...

This is just one of those articles written by someone who thinks that mental disease is just made up bunk. In reality there is more proof out there that would crush this article.
