I just got a new piece of kit in the post today - a toy/exercise machine hybrid called a powerball.

Basically, it's a gyroscope set into a ball, and the aim of the game is to get it to rotate as fast as possible, while it produces pretty lights. It's also exercise though - the faster it gets, the harder it is (Apparantly at higher speeds it's the equivalent of moving 40kg).

It took me a while to get the hang of starting it, but it's fun :D Plus, I can't feel my repetetive strain injury after playing with it.

The only bit that bugs me is that I can't get it to turn on the LCD (whilst not using it) without erasing my high score.

So, has anyone tried one of these things? And what did you think?

I am an owner of an NSD Powerball. My record so far is 12,530 RPM. Somehow, my high score doesn't get erased when turning on the LCD. Maybe you're holding down the ON/CLR button instead of pressing it once.

Quite possibly. I have been known to make similiar silly mistakes. I will have to investigate this possibility.
