Pa. woman cited for cursing at toilet

This is insane... she's in her own house, cursing at her own malfunctioning plumbing, and her cop neighbor next door hears her...

If thats a crime, lock me up now...

Mary Catherine Roper, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union in Philadelphia, took issue with the citation.

"You can't prosecute somebody for swearing at a cop or a toilet," she said.

The lawyer has it right. She'll get off. This cop must be a real stickler for the rules OR have something against the neighbor.

Anyone with an ounce of common decency and a basic knowledge of plumbing would have HELPED her out.

Overflowing toilets are easy to stop (I assume US toilets work on a similar ballcock principal to ours) and when you're wading around in your own crappy water, of course you're going to swear.

I'm sensing that this man is not a fan of his neighbour, and saw a chance to get a dig in.

Ha ha! That is so daft! I think I would have said a few... unsavoury words if that had been my toilet!

You'll all hate me for this, but that might be because the cop is an aspie.

Perhaps she was violating a noise ordinance?
She'd have to have a REALLY loud voice...
