Do you see your autism when you look in the mirror? Do you see an NT when you look in the mirror? Does looking at yourself make you feel incomfortable or comfortable? How old do you see yourself? How do you feel about Mirrors and your Reflection? If I look at my eyes in the mirror, its almost like I can see my little autie self looking out, its weird! I sometimes see myself as an adult, but most of the time as a child.

It never really crosses my mind when I look at a mirror.

The only thing I really notice is what color my eyes are.

There are some times when they are all of the colors of the color spectrum - Red near the pupil, going to orange, yellow, a hazel-ish green, a ghostly pale blue next to the dark edge of the iris, and the dark edge itself is a dark purple.

I don't see the difference between the Autistic and others within a reflection or others' looks - you can see that on the inside. And it doen't matter anyways.

It's not how your brain functions. It's what you do with your life and functioning brain that matters.

I'm oddly drawn to looking at my reflection for long periods of time, but I don't know why.

I see my mother, I see a child of God, I see a strong, passionate and gentle spirit, I see intelligence and I see many imperfections that remind me that I am a mere mortal.

Like Tex, it really does not cross my mind when I look into a mirror. It only aids in my odd habit of using tweezers to pluck out facial hairs. Oh and sometimes I like to make different faces in the mirror.

Sometimes I talk to myself in the mirror. Sometimes I don't like to look. My mother and brothers always claimed that I did everything for attention anyway, so when I'm upset I don't look in the mirror, because I feel like if I do, it'll be just for the sake of someone seeing me.

I see it in my eyes too when I see myself. I think its mostly cause one looks slightly different than the other, and just.. The way I look, its hard to explain. I figure other people must notice it too even though I have a good looking face, the weirdness is still there somehow.. I try not to think about it.

I still see the same me I've always seen, if that makes sense. I don't see myself age.

I'm quite fascinated with the mirror, for reasons I can't always understand. I guess self is an abstract concept, and the mirror helps to make it more concrete. Yet somehow it doesn't, because the outer self does not reflect the inner self. I suppose I always try to outwardly reflect my inner self unless I am hiding for some reason, so I like to check.

I've gone all philosophical and probably sound insane lol

No, I'm not mythical, I see nothing but another male, six one and ninety eight of dirt and dust. No expression, no future but death and nothing.

Much like how I see everyone else.

I know what you mean, Age. I rarely see myself as an adult, even though I'm 20. I usually see my own innocence, maybe b/c I feel like I don't understand a lot about the world. I think being Aspie has something to do with that...Most people outgrow it, but Aspies may have a harder time figuring the world out.

In my dorm room there is a mirror to the side of my chair, so I can look over at myself whenever I want. A lot of times if I feel excited or something, I will look over at myself and smile at myself, or laugh with myself. LOL. When I am alone I feel the need to share things with myself, like sharing with a friend, so I like the mirror.
