Singer Robert Goulet Dies at 73

WHAT??? NO. I cant believe that the king of Swank is gone. Long live Goulet.!

He's a distant relative of mine. Never met him, but I heard he was quite a character.

I read that earlier today and was sad. .. he was working right up to the end on that commercial about nutrition bars that you should eat for the mid afternoon let downs "Robert Goulet will come mess with your stuff. . ."

He was quite the character and a fine, fine singer.

"Good night sweet prince, may flights of angels sing the to thy rest"

It's got me really stressed. He's my uncle's cousin, and my uncle was just diagnosed with aggressive multiple myeloma (a type of blood cancer) two weeks ago, at age 52. He's undergoing massive chemo right now, plus he's on dialysis. Then Robert got really sick just after that, and now he's died. My uncle's going to be so upset. This just sucks.

Whos going to mess up my office when i'm sleeping in the afternoon? I hope no one is offended by this video. I think he was a great guy and I just love this commercial.

WOOT!! ! That made me laugh SO hard!! I feel much better today. I just got off the phone with my uncle, and he's doing fine with it. They were never close due to the big age difference, but it's still really sad and sudden. I felt like SUCH an a-hole because a couple of weeks ago I'd found an old interview with him in which he's acting like such an arrogant ass, and we were emailing it round the family to make my uncle laugh. Then a week later we found out Robert was seriously ill!!

Arrrghh!! More bad karma I'm working off.

It's sad that Robert Goulet could not get a lung transplant. From what I understand he was waiting for one for a few weeks. It's a shame. Rest and Peace.

That was a hilarious commercial. It made me laugh, and I'm sure he enjoyed it, too. I would have loved to have his voice; it's a whole lot better than mine.

I was so saddened to hear this, specifically because he died of Pulmonary Fibrosis. My husband was diagnosed with this condition a bit more than a year ago, and we were devastated. Life expectancy averages two to five years. Thankfully the diagnosis was an ERROR and his lungs are just fine. What a nightmare that was. I just felt so awful for Robert Goulet and his family. Pulmonary Fibrosis is a devastating illness.

Yeah, I was really shocked and sad when he died, because I didn't really understand this disease and I thought they'd at least be able to keep him alive until a donor was found.

Thanks to everyone for their kind comments. I know I wasn't a close relative, but his passing has affected my family and I appreciate everyone's nice words.

I remember him mainly for playing the villain in the Naked Gun 2 1/2, and for his appearance on the Simpsons, in the episode where Bart started his own casino.
