I've been depressed lately, for no apparent reason. That by itself wouldn't be a problem, but I just cannot focus on things. In school, my mind drifts around and about, and at home the day shoots by with me having accomplished nothing...

My grades have been getting lower and lower, yet I cannot motivate myself to work harder. Is this true depression?

I know this is short and mostly me complaining. While I generally avoid talking about myself and complaining, I cannot remember the last time I communicated how I feel to a real person...

I don't mind being criticized, don't mind being called an idiot. But I cannot keep to myself forever...

If you read this far, thank you :)

That sounds a lot like me: not the depression part, but the focusing part. You might have ADD. If get diagnosed, you might be able to get a prescription for Adderol, like I have. Adderol is a stimulant, just like caffeine, only much more potent. It even works for people who don't have ADD, but that's not legal (because our drug laws are written by cranky stuckup bastards). It's safe enough to be an over the counter drug.

A 30 mg pill will give you a sharp mind for about 3 to 4 hours, so you can set it to a task and it won't veer off course within that time. When it wears off, it has a counter effect for a while, during which it's easy to get carried away in menial tasks, but overall, I can't say enough good things about the drug.

That might not be the answer you were expecting, but I know it helped me (and still helps me).

Maybe you are really depressed. It has happened to me. I don´t know if this is your case... Drugs helped me a lot and also the fact that my situation changed - I have individual studies now. I was really, really desperate in the presence of people, but my case is somewhat special...

Hmmm, I hardly remember typing this up. :P

Thanks for the replies, I may be a little of both. Certainly an interesting predicament...
