what do you see?

I see a picture, a scene of my thoughts. Interconnected pictures.

You?

I see the capilaries in my retinas, a sort of a slight TV static of random noise.

If I close my eyes right now, I see an after image of my computer screen.

For me, my imagined images (memories, dreams, ideas) occur in a deeper part of my brain, so I can imagine them with my eyes open or closed. That part of my brain registers as "more real" to my perceptions for some reason, than images being processed by my eyes.

I do see images - neuro discharge? I know others see light 'flickers' or the equivalent - considered normal. If I close my eyes immediately after looking at a complex pattern, I see the after-image like a photo negative but in color reverse.

Except....since I am autistic, by definition, my existence is in my mind. So, I do see (a lot) with my eyes closed; like a mirror inside somehow. I doubt this makes sense, but I do see with my mindblindness. I see the unseen.

When dreaming, people's eyes are closed, of course, so this shouldn't seem so strange. Dreams are vivid.

Same for me.

If I see light reflecting off of a doorknob or see a window and close my eyes, the pattern will remain for the next few seconds. The random noise I often see when I do close my eyes can keep me from falling asleep and it is exacerbated if I put any kind of pressure on my eyes while they are closed, if there is a source of light, or if there is unwanted noise keeping me awake. When it is extremely bright, I can close my eyes and see nothing but red, as opposed to either black or capilaries/noise.

I don't suspect it's abnormal. Maybe some NTs could join in on the discussiion?(I might be an NT myself. I don't know what I am.)

When I think with my eyes closed, I can indeed see pictures and what would be the equivalent of 'video' when going through old memories. But I think it's normal for people to do this.

Nothing. It makes me really anxious too, I hate being deprived of my senses - it is literally my worst nightmare, and I feel like I'm going to die.

The only times I've seen images in my mind is when I've taken hallucinogens, namely LSD and mushrooms. In that case, there are an infinite number of ultra-bright geometric shapes which can be rotated and manipulated at will, which exist in a 3-dimensional space where "up" and "down" have no real meaning.

The only other way I visualize things is if I stare at a stucco ceiling or something, but everyone gets that, I think.

I've always tried to ask people this question. I'm not talking about the negatives that you see after looking at light. I remember being little, and looking up at my ceiling in a dark room, and I would just watch the images that appeared and disappeared like bubbles in boiling water. I would see a box of laundry soap - name and all - floating among other images. I could only *focus* on a couple at a time. Many of the things had words on it. I can't remember if there was color, but I don't think so. I would rub my eyes to get that white that happens when you press your eye, and watch more images pop into view. It doesn't happen anymore, even if I try really hard. But I really remember that and thought it was just what eyes did when there was nothing to look at. When I mean little, I mean like under age 7.

I see a series of flickering yellow lines arranged in a very complex two-dimensional geometric maze that slowly spirals away while it extends in all directions. It's almost like looking at an infinitely large, stripped down circuit board.

Well I guess I'll answer in the context of this thread

I see lines of computer programming.

I love to look at static flecks that glitter in the air too. Or patterns on the ceiling from the slits in my standing lamp. And coat hangers, venetian blinds, carpet texture. Outside I love looking/feeling glittery snow, ice fog, etc. I guess I see patterns in the dark too. I do stare at the palm of my hand but I keep this behavior in check. I can spot anything sparkly on the floor right away, such as a staple. Others seem oblivious to this sort of thing. Sometimes I see math.

Geez, I'm glad only us are reading this. I cannot imagine what a NT might think of this topic - oh well.

Just a reminder, Danielsmyname: I am (still) the Aspergian Princess. Although technically I'm an autie not an aspie but I eclipse both. I am high-functioning regardless.

Soopervilin - Love the circuit board image. Right near my desk I have a motherboard on the wall for artwork.

Kurtz - Why? Why can't you see? Do you know why? Maybe I just assume that our kind have an enhanced sensory modality. Are you able to turn yours off (0) somehow, like a binary circuit? Can you turn it back on (1)? Where is your circuit switch?

I see blackness. I also "see" random flashes of imagery in my mind's eye.

I closed by eyes. This is what I saw: XC505TMVQ100CKN9801N1046681A3C

Recognize, yes?

Then, I see yellow spider legs coming from this dark square. Soopervilin sees this too, I think. Do you with your eyes closed?

I think in pictures, for the most part and see images when I close my eyes of whatever I'm thinking of-- but I also see images in my brain when my eyes are open, it all depends on if I relax and go into a meditative state, and when I want to think in words I start talking out loud to myself, and/or start writing...Talking out loud helps me to organize my thoughts.I am much better at comunicating with the written word unless you are a close friend, and are able to put up with my rambling style of conversation, and like me very much, then you might find me endearing instead of annoying.
I agree with LabPet too, about everything except math :D and the spider thingy :P

WOW, I'm Jealous! I generally see nothing of note. SOMETIMES, though I rarely wait long enough or push to get it sooner, I DO see almost like comets come down, and become like little movies. As fo reading? Funny as it sounds, it seems that day to day, I rarely get that kind of resolution.
