I know that there is already a Facebook.com topic in the school and college life forum but I personally think that the subject of Facebook should also be in the getting to know each other forum area as well.

Here my Facebook profile link

If doesn't work then type Jerry M. Holy in search

Facebook is a way of creating yet more social unhappiness - two people who I thought were close friends rejected me as friends (they didnt want me to see how much they get up to with their other friends without me). And seeing how much more often other people get messages and gifts etc is quite depressing. Yes, I have got in contact with people I lost contact with, but we never communicate anyway. I am sort of stuck on it now though because I dont want to lose those connections, shallow as they might be.

To me, Facebook has made me more social than I was before so I haven't had any social unhappiness yet with Facebook.

I just find social networking sites a lot easier than using the phone. If I had to use the phone I wouldn't be in contact with anyone. There's always social trauma on the web, these are the things I promise myself I won't do.

*Look at my friends 'Top 8's and wonder why I'm not in them
*Read people who I know dislike me's blogs, (decided this since a friend of an ex described me on one as 'the most awful person (he) had ever met')
*Agonise over rejected friends requests
*Look at the comments pages of men who've rejected me and feel sad about him really blatently flirting with hot girls.

etc etc etc

Merrymadscientist, those people sound horrible! And a bit immature?? I hope you don't let them get to you to much.

I don't use it big time, like other people, but I still use it from time to time:
