Is a CAT scan the same as a brain scan? I had one done 10 years ago because I had been in a car accident. I didn't believe that I didn't have some kind of brain damage (they said I had no concussion and sent me home that night, though I had a head injury).
The scan showed no brain injury but that I was missing a vertebra in my neck. It wasn't worn, they said it looked as if it had been either surgically removed or that I was never born with it.

I had a PET scan when I was younger (about 21 I think.) It found no obstructions or clots in the blood flow to the brain, nor any inflammation, nor any serious abnormalities in the structure of the brain. At least, that's what they told me. I can remember wondering if there ware any abnormalities that were not serious...

But yeah, nothing like a scan to diagnose autism. Sorry I couldn't be of any service.

Two cat scans, ten MRIs (so far). Found two brain tumors, and one radiologist noted that my cerebellum was smaller than usual, which made sense, as it, the brainstem, and other nearby structures had been compressed over a long period of time.

I participated in a research study a few years ago wherein I had MRI's of the brain while I played a very simple video game (and got paid for this :)). The research assistant told me afterwards, "I don't know how to tell you this, but I thought you should know, we saw a spot on your brain." :!: She said she couldn't tell me what it means.
I know that MS might have similar findings, and also can cause sensory problems like I have, and motor clumsiness, forgetfulness, tinnitus, and fatigue, like I also have. There is some overlap with the AS symptoms, so I just keep telling myself it's all AS stuff, not MS.

What did they do about the tumors, YowlingCat?

Sliced and diced. :D

Really made a permanent mess of my skull and neck, cutting out muscle and messing up the artificial "bone" goo they used to replace what they cut out. Left bone dust inside lining of the brain, which causes permanent headaches. Have to keep an eye on the areas, even though they're "pretty sure" they got it all, it's a kind that can recur, and if it does, it's vicious.

Oh, la dee da. Ready for the next thing!

I had a MRI when I was 6 or 7 because they were worried I might have a tumor on my pituitary gland, but fortunately they found nothing. I've also had full-body (including my brain) CT scans and a PET scan, but nothing was found.

I had an MRI when I was 17 cuz I was having headaches 7 nights a week @ the time. Then I had another MRI when I was 21 1/2 cuz I went to see the neurologist for follow-up care.

When I had the first MRI it revealed an extra piece of bone inside my skull that had to be surgically removed. I had brain surgery a month and a half later.

When I had the second MRI it just revealed the post-operative changes.

Twice, once when I was about 8 or 10 because I was blacking out and my EEGs were really weird. They were sure I had a tumor, but they never found one. Once when I was 25 because I'm partially deaf in my left ear for no apparent reason, again they thought it might be a tumor but it wasn't.

I had an mri, and they showed me four years ago my autistic brain to a nt brain, and told me sometimes it shows up in people, and sometimes it doesn.t Defintely don't judge a mri on whos autistic or not. They also said i had a cyst on my petuitary gland which is weird.

I had an EEG when I was 6 (yes, I know it's not a scan, but it's similar). I had an MRI when I was 26 because I had a seizure. The results of the EEG and the MRI were normal.
