OCD and the misspelling issue
I feel a bit uncomfortable posting my problems in a new topic, but I must know if someone can help me. The situation is as follows:
I live in Brazil and there aren't many aspies here, if there were, it would be quite difficult for us to meet because most people don't know what AS is or, those who know and have been diagnosed, they prefer to hide instead of being different. I'm not sure why, but almost every single brazilian has an Orkut profile, which means I've got one too and a few weeks ago, a brasilian aspie guy found me in an Asperger's Comunity and came to me, starting an online conversation.
He wanted to know several things about me being an aspie as well. He's quite insistent and even though I'd like to answer him, his grammar is so terrible that it has become a burden for me to read his messages. I've got OCD and I can't stand someone who's been educated and can't speak (and, specially, write) his/her birth language.
I've been trying to be polite and answer his questions about Aspergers, I even told him about WrongPlanet.net, but he doesn't understand a word in English and he kept asking me how to create an account, the meaning of every single word. That was getting me out of my mind.
I really tried, but I wasn't too patient with him. Should I tell the guy his writing is completely unacceptable for me and he should try to look in a dictionary how words are spelt? Should I try as hard as I can to accept his misspelling just because he's the only brazilian aspie I know?
Can anybody help me, please?
