Read the article here

This is the one and ONLY motorsports rally I watch religiously each year, not just because it's an off-road rally, but because it is often the proving ground for the world's largest vehicle manufacturers to test their latest production vehicle prototypes. For those who have no idea what the Dakar is, here is an idea.

Furthermore, there is only ONE channel in America which covers the rally (because the hicks are all too busy getting wasted while watching NASCAR).

Should we allow terrorist organizations to interfere with an organization that supports relief aid for Africa, as well as offers a large influx of wealth into the countries hosting the event, or better yet, should we vote with our wallets (due to the various hostage situations, theft, and acts of terrorism threatening the "Last Great Adventure" over it's 29 years of history), and relocate the rally under another name to Eastern Africa?

Or does anyone even care as much as I do about this sport?

This isn't really up for debate. If the ASO thinks that the risk is serious enough to sacrifice the revenue of the event, then it's their call. I'd guess that the warnings from the French government were pretty substantial.

And eastern Africa is comparatively less stable at the moment.
