I have a problem, I'm unorganized. A planer wont work, I'm digraphic. The thing is, I know the material in class, but I never remember to do the work. So do any of you have any strategies for getting organized? Something that doesn't involve writing?

Writing is the most efficient for most people, but it does not seem to work with you...

But to get rid of writing... sometimes I use my PDA as a memorecorder. I use it especially to record good thoughts when I am driving. (I can start it with one hand, that is a bit more save.) When I arrive back at home I listen to all the pieces I recorded, and do the associated actions.

how about pictograms? You could draw basic cartoons to remind yourself what you have to do...

I have the same problem, so every week I list the things that I have to do, and tape it onto my desk (though it can be anywhere that you know you will look). That way, it's impossible to forget, and I can always add to it.

If each class has a color highlighter assigned to it, you could mark on a simple calendar in that color and add a symbol or something you CAN write that you put on each assignment on the class list-- do they still hand out a calendar with the assignments on it at the first class of the semester? You can put a symbol on each assignment, then use the color code on the calendar so you know there is one due on that day, which class, and then you can go to the notebook and look at the assignment calendar for the specifics.

I managed college this way-- although I write, I still needed to color code and keep a calendar on the wall where I saw it all the time that showed papers, tests, etc and when they were due.

I think that nowadays everybody has got gadgets, so you can simply use your reminder on the phone or iPad. So you'll be always in the right place at the right time.
