I am Archmage the archmage! Greetings to you all! My mother showed me this site, and now i am a member! Thanks to the considerate and super-intelligent wizards (the site admin.) that conjured this site for us to enjoy and allow me to join! But enough of that. Let me tell you a little about myself...

I will not divulge my true name to this site, or i will be at the mercy of the bane of the supernatural, the abnormally cruel people that work at the disonorable American organization known as Area 51(although they concentrate most of their time and resources on unmasking the extraterrestrials). However, I will tell you this: i am 13 years of age (i am the youngest archmage ever!) am currently in the 8th grade of normal school, and have been classified by "psychologists"(non-magical doctors that try to understand the mind) as having "Aspeger's Syndrome"(the non-magical name for the symptoms of possessing a magical gift). As my name, intro, and message implies, i am obsessively interested in anything that has to do with magic. My favorite book/movie/game series are: Harry Potter (obviously), The Lost Years of Merlin, The Legend of Zelda, and Protector of the Small (i know its a girly book but i do not care). I hope that i will find some friends here, preferably some with simalar interests. if you would like to chat, send me a private message and i will contact you when i see you are online on this site.

By the way, an archmage is a "boss wizard". they are more powerful and know more than most wizards, and can teach them.

P.S. i am not really a wizard, i just like to imagine i am. Or do I?

P.P.S. I happen to know how to read and write runes. i would send you a sample, but this !$#!@#% computer doesn't have a scanner, and i cant seem to find a font/language setting that can type runes. i got this ability by reading another one of my favorite books, The Hobbit.

Hi Archmage. I'm Cindy. I am not into magic, but I am into Tolkien. With a personality and hyper-focused mind like his, he had to have been an Aspie!

Thanks for joining! You sound really cool. I like the legend of zelda. Do you like Warcraft III? thats one of my favorite computer games. I like to use the hero called the archmage. Thanks for calling me a superintelligent wizard.

Hello. Archmage again. I am also into Tolkien as well. the neat thing about his books is that they actually depict a world with history.
his world goes beyond the books, whereas most books just explain what happened in the time period that they intended to, and nothing else. a really good idea in my opinion.

As for Warcraft III i never knew that there was an archmage on that. i've never played it, though i've seen my dad play it. i have another game that i like, though. Its called Neverwinter Nights Gold Edition. its really my dads game, but he lets me play it. i think is based on the Forgotten Realms series. the only problem i have with it is that i have to compete with dad to play it, as he plays it incessantly. he's playing it right now, as a matter of fact.

I think its cool that you [alex] like the Legend of Zelda. what games do you have? i have Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Link's Awakening, A Link to the Past/Four Swords (For the GBA), and
the Oracle games (Both Ages and Seasons).

By the way, did any of you get bad luck yesterday? i know that those poor people in Florida did. I read an article in Earthlink News that there was one guy that had his trailer collapse, and had to wait out the hurricane behind a lawnmower. when the news crew found him in the aftermath, his only coment was "Happy Friday the 13th". Nasty business.
I only hope that my grandparents managed to get through OK, since we hadn't heard from them since the hurricane.

Anyways, i need to eat breakfast now, since i skipped dinner last night to write my intro. See you later.

P.S. Thanks for those rune sites, V111.

I am not into magic but I like Tolkien, Zelda (especially Ocarina of time) and also Final Fantasy.
I do not really like Harry Potter though.
If you want to talk with me on IM, just go to my profile.

Yes, that is one of the reasons I enjoy Tolkien so much.
Hope you hear from your grandparents soon.

Phew! Now that was lucky. I got news last night that my grandparents got through the hurricane OK. it passed over Orlando; right between them and a few other members of my family. So continues my family's blessing at somehow being able to avoid severe storms!

^.^ 13 is a good age to be.

Ooh, you gotta read "The Dark is Rising" sequence, by Susan Cooper. Except don't read "Over Sea, Under Stone," that doesn't fit with the series and is terribly banal and the people in it giggle too much. Start with the book "The Dark is Rising" and all.

Ooh and also Ursula LeGuin... what was it... The Earthsea trilogy by Ursula LeGuin. And read the "Wrinkle in Time" series by Madeleine L'engle.

Eeks... with all these books to read you prolly be 16 by the time you get through 'em. I recommend starting from the last books I said. L'Engle really wrote about some amazing things.

Oh and... yes I'm obsessed with magic too.

No, no an arch-mage is the wizard in charge of the local Wizard's tower's athletic program. Since it involves lots of stretching, and people arching, the name arch-mage became popular. You can trust this is true because you read about it here on the Internet.

I don't know what you mean by runes, but I do draw lots of regular symbols on various things, mostly just to draw something when I'm idle, but getting going I can fill a whole page with the map of such a diagram. At any rate... nice to meet you! Didn't like the Hobbit that much, but I do recognize it and the Lord of the Rings as a very well done series.

Hello, everyone. Today has not been my day. I think Mother Nature is a little @%&!$^ off at me. We've had two downpour/thunderstorms today, and a third is predicted to come tomorrow. I have gotten heavily rained on twice today, and a bolt of lighting struck no more than one mile away from where i was in my father's car, traveling home from the haircut place with him. :o 8O I'm sorry that i have not used this site for over a week, but i've had a buttload of homework for each of my 8th grade teachers. :x I've had to create a children's book based on this song about the Order of Operations that a friend of my algebra teacher wrote, and i've also had to research the state of Hawaii, so i've been surfing the Web (get it? ). I just heard another roll of thunder, so i'd better sign off pronto before Mom yells at me. She's got this thing about having the PC on during a storm. See ya!

Hey Archmage,
I am narocos and I thought I might say hi,
I confess not to being much of a Harry Potter fan(but give me a tolkien any day and I'll read it). But I do love Lord of the Rings and I've read all the books and seen most of the movies on DVD except for the last one which I'm waiting for the last movie to come out in Special DVD before I get it. If your into Fantasy you should read Eragon which allthough I haven't read all of it, of what I have read, this seems pretty good, Christopher Paolini has a pretty solid narritive. Its part of a new fantasy series called "Inheritance" written by a boy who began writting after finishing High School when he was 15, it's pretty good. I my self am a writter but I only write short stories and I found it interesting that he is an accomplished writter allready at 19 which is pretty good for some one his age.

Any way Keepin it real Narocos

Hi Naracos! I could have written your statements about LOTR. I'm eagerly awaiting the extended version of Return of the King. Then I'm going to have a private LOTR marathon with all the extended versions. Have you read the Silmarillion? I read it this summer for the first time. It was awesome! I'm just starting Unfinished Tales now.
Do you happen to know of any "serious" LOTR message boards? You know, the LITERARY kind??? Ones that aren't crammed full of posts announcing "I'm in love with Arwen" or "Viggo turns me on!" :o

Today's been one heck of a day. I've had to run for fear of my life, got interviewed by the cops, and had to work on homework for four hours straight. now that i've gotten your attention, i think a little explanation is in order. i was ambushed by what i thought was a small group of anti-me kids that i call the Southwest Gang (so named because the majority of them live in the southwest of my neighborhood)-only the group had swollen to 10 kids that i did not know, but they knew me, and hated me. one, a 5th grader, even went so far as to threaten me with a nonexistent knife (at least i think that it was non-existent) that he claimed he had hidden in in his pocket. But i did the smart thing: went home, locked the door, grabbed my trusty hiking pole that doubles as a quarterstaff, and called my mom, who called the cops. From there, i told the officer what happened, and he gave those that i could name a sound telling off, told their parents, and warned them that he would arrest them if any further trouble was caused by their hands (at least i think he did, i wasn't there). mom has also asked my neighbor to help me if it happened again. maybe they can reinstate the Neighborhood Watch; that would be a big help. i know it will happen again: but at least this time i have a plan. but what really !@#$#%es me off is that my principal never batted an eve towards this incident, even though she is campaigning against bullying. She says that she couldn't do anything about it, because it happened outside campus, even though the perpetrators were all enrolled in the school. that is the lamest excuse i ever heard. What a pile of bull%$#$! remind me to never trust her to solve a problem ever again. i hope that if they (the bullies) kill me, that my mom prepares a nice fat lawsuit for them. (the school)
see you later,
Archmage

P.S. this was supposed to be posted on the 30th of august, but due to technical problems, i am posting it now. Enjoy. :P
