right, so you've got yer fermions, which are particles with a half integer spin, named after Enrico Fermi and Paul Dirac. Then you've got yer bosons, which are full-spin particles, named after Satyendra Bose and Albert Einstein (whoever he may be ). all very well and good.

for years, however, quantum science has suspected that there is another particle, which spins all over the place, and completely randomly. they have hunted high and low to find conclusive proof of its existence, but to no avail. the race to discover and name this elusive beast has reached unprecedented levels of hysteria amongst the scientific community. the best mathematical minds in the world have wrestled with this conundrum for years, before giving it all up and forming boy bands, in frustration.

in this exclusive news bulletin, i, Vivi - your intrepid WrongPlanet.net reporter - can reveal that, finally, the random spin particle has been discovered! due to an unusual (and uncharacteristic) modesty on behalf of its discoverer (that'll be me, then! :D), the particle will not be called the "vivion" ("shame!", i hear you cry), but will be named after the greatest proponent of random spin known today. the new particle shall, therefore be called...

wait for it...

the Blairon.

i thank you.

(p.s. this is supposed to be witty and amusing (i've just had a nasty shock, so i needed a diversionary tactic to recover). any party pooper who starts correcting the science or being all aspie and pedantic shall stand accused of having their sense of humour removed, and, from henceforth, have the title "Spoily Woily" appended above the little squares by their avatar, and "I poop parties, ner!" under it. made me laugh, anyway :P).

glad to see i am not the only talented scientist here, vetivert.

i am an amateur psychologist and i have recently discovered a rare neurolgical disorder which causes its sufferers to have severe behavioural problems. i have named my syndrome Stupid Murderer Disorder (SMD).

my set of diagnostic criteria are:

a. disguises rascist tendancies by using words such as "liberty" and "democracy".

b.compulsive desire to go on holiday (vacation) for several weeks a year.

c. disregard for the value of human life.

d. a face like a cat's a*** (no offence to cats).

e. abilty to shirk responsibilty when the lives of thousands of people depend on him.

there is a high-profile case of Stupid Murderer Disorder who has been in the news a lot for the past few years... can you guess who it is?! !

Blairon is obviously akin to the synthesized combination of not the partical, but the partical-brained combination of Bush + Moron.... and to think, I used to believe bush-on was something pleasant.

NO! Great minds argue over wether or not the glass is half full or half empty!

I know this because my entire family consists of Great minds and they could not be more alien from one another!

My Brother, he is an optomist. He says the glass is half full.

My Sister, she is a pessimist. Always argues that my Brother ignores that of the glass which is half empty, demanding that the glass is nothing unless absence of anything is absent from it.

My Mother, she is the anarchist. Why is my glass only half!?! I want to see the manager! Not only is this glass not full, it has a chip in it! And it's not my glass, my glass was BIGGER!!

My Aunt, she is the pragmatist. It's half a glass of cheap wine, stop bickering and just drink it, morons.

My Uncle, he is the existentialist. There is no water, only our idea and memory of it, it doesn't dictate who I am!

And Me, I am the fantasist. It's not water, it's not even a glass; it's a chalice of the gods and will grant me eternal life! It also tastes like yummy chocolate, not cheap wine which I hates.

lol!

i don't think your mother sounds like an anarchist though. perhaps she should try throwing the water over a right-wing politician, smashing the glass and then dye her hair green. or is your mother such an anarchist that she doesn't even conform to the behaviour expected of an anarchist? hard core!

Congratulations!

I have a feeling, though, that this discovery is going to rain on my parade for having devised a unit to measure rate of faux pas, the autom.
