I have recently started wearing glasses for reading and the computer.
My vision without them is just blurry enough to make my eyes work harder than I can handle and I get aches.

Does anyone else hate those little smudges, spots, flecks of something, or reflections of your eyeballs, on your glasses?

I can't seem to get mine clean enough sometimes and I think someday I'll have wiped away the lenses just from trying to get them 'clean' enough.
It's only been maybe half a year now that I've been wearing them so regularly.
Do you find you get used to things on the lenses and ignore them?
I keep my glasses in a hard case most of the time and use that soft chamois-like cloth that came with the glasses.

I keep my glasses on one of those cords so they hang about my neck.
Since I have a beard, sometimes those little skin flakes fall off onto the lenses, or a hair, water, etc. then I have to clean them all over again..... IT'S MADDENING... sometimes.

I just need a little confirmation that everything will be alright! :(

I just buy cheap reading glasses, like magnifying glasses and throw them out every few months, they scratch easily.

I also use a cleaner like for laptop screens on them.

No.
I've been wearing glasses regularly since I was 7 years old and I still clean my glasses about 10 times per day.

I have been wearing specs since I was about 3 and have learned a few tricks in that time.

Grease and oil are the worst things that you can ever get on or near your lenses - avoid at all costs.

I usually wash my lenses in warm soapy water, rinse briefly in hot water, shake dry and then finish off with a soft absorbant dry cloth ie towelling. If my specs get dusty or get dry flecks on them I just blow the dust off. If I clean my specs like this I only need to clean them every week or so and I don't get the dreadful smeary streaky effects that drive me up the wall.

I NEVER use tissue or toilet paper because they can scratch the lenses or leave a residue.
I never put sunglasses or other glasses up on my head - hair has grease or oil - so would your beard.
I avoid touching my specs whenever possible, and never touch the lenses with my fingers, or really any other skin surface.

There is also a lens tint that you can order that cuts down of reflection but your brain will probably adjust in time anyway unless you have a really strong prescription.

Good Luck.

Yes, having dirty glasses is annoying. That's why I wear contact lenses 8)

I'm thinking about getting contacts.

At first I can remember it bothering me...but over time you start to not notice it as much. But then I've been wearing glasses since I was 8.

I went the contact route twice and always had a problem adjusting to them for some reason.

ok so I get ant-glare so I dont see the reflection off my eyes and things in the lens BIG HELP, with that I get a

helpful ant-scrach that helps with the dust and specks, altra thin poloycarbonat lense. transitional so when I

go out in the sun they will start to tint in to sun glasses. That work off of UV and keep my eyes safe. 8)

Yes...anti-glare is nice. For keeping them clean, I like the Wipe 'N' Clean stuff you get at Wal*Mart. A charm, it works like!

I'm so lazy I only clean my glasses each morning in the shower. I don't really notice the smudges, but they definitely do build up. For some reason they're basically invisible to me. If I ever clean them during the day (I almost never do this), I'm suprised at how much better everything looks.

Not so much now, as when I was a kid, I have been wearing glasses most of my life, and when I was younger it seemed my eyes were supersensitive to the slightest smudge or blur on them and it seemed like I had to clean them every five minutes. For some reason that used to set my father off and he would go into these towering rages over the subject. But then a lot of things I did set him off . . .

I've been wearing the same glasses for 5 years, and if I hold them up, they are almost solid with scratches. It is getting annoying, but making an appointment for an exam is worse.

Lens cleaning wipes are a great help. I'm also very careful when I pick up my glasses, so they don't get smudged.

I've been wearing glasses for almost 40 years now, five years ago I had to get bifocals because my eye lenses
are not that resilient anymore.

My cat deliberately knocks my glasses to the floor to wake me up in the morning.
