I will post a new thread with the democratic and republican winners in about a month or two, and then we will truly pick a new president of the United States.

Edwards and Gravel have both dropped out, so you may as well remove their names from this poll. I will be voting for Ron Paul, which means I will not be able to participate in the Democratic primary this election cycle. Not that I would if I were able; I disapprove of both Hillary and Obama and would refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils.

According to CNN, Gravel has not dropped out. Furhtermore, there has been no mention of Gravel dropping out.

As little as I appreciate the language choice, you're right. If you go to cnn's election site, you'll see they're virtually the same on every issue. And acutally, one of the few bills they disagreed on was relating to automobile MPG's.

I must apologize about that, even though I have obscured the word except one letter.

They aren't socialists. If they are socialists then I must be a Stalinist (even though I'm not even a Marxist).

Obama is center-left (in the center by European standards) while Clinton is a centrist, pro-business neo-liberal like her husband. Both would fit in well in European liberal/libertarian parties like the Liberal Democrats in the UK and the Free Democrats in Germany.

Sorry, I was mistaken. I had heard that Gravel had dropped out, this is apparently not the case. I'll be throwing in a wasteful vote for him momentarily just so I can see how the other candidates are faring. Maybe a "not voting in this primary" option would have been good to allow people to vote in one of your primaries and still observe the progress of the other? Ah, what am I talking about, this is internet voting, so we may as well get to vote in both.

Barack Obama was found to be the most liberal senator in 2007

Hillary Clinton was found to be tied as the 16th most liberal senator

I'd say they're both extreme left liberals.

Clinton will win.

The reason Obama won't is because of his name.

Money and political connections are also big factors.

"extreme" American liberals are still center-left. Neither of them are anti-capitalist, and a lot of moderate Republicans like Obama. The fact that people like Obama are called "far-left" by people like your self goes to show successful the GOP propaganda machine has been in pulling the definition of the political center to the right.
