I'm trying to open some possibilities for our 13-year-old Aspie who totally melts down when you even mention AS, autism, or even just talk about HIM at all.

He can't get anywhere if he doesn't acknowledge how his brain is wired. But we can't talk directly to him, so I was thinking of another way:

I was thinking that his NT younger sibling could find some support for herself (and make friends) by meeting other kids on Wrong Planet. And maybe one day in the future, she could introduce him to Wrong Planet, and then he would see that AS is not the end of the world.

I'd like that. I think his little sister would also like to hear from other siblings of Aspies, how their lifestyles affect them, and what they do to make things better.

Suggestions, anyone?

My ten year old doesn't like talking about being an Aspie either. We've had some social success at Gamer's Workshop- a place where people paint and battle fantasy miniatures. Its chock full of Aspies- they just don't talk about it. Maybe your son has an interest like that which would put him in contact with other people in a casual way. Just a thought. :)

I have Asperger's and my big brother has Asperger's.

My little brother is really funny and he likes cars, trucks, motorbikes and any other transporters.

I want my little brother to have Asperger's.
