When I do a search in the forum the results will only show which thread it is in but it will not take you to the page in the thread the word is found.

So for threads that have like 50 pages it is outright impossible to get the search result unless you manually go through each page and look for it.

Other forums lets you click on the thread where the word is found and the next screen shows you the list of pages inside that thread that matched the search.

Could we have something like this please? :)

I've never had any luck with the search feature - it usually tells me it's broken.

It's a pity since it would be nice to just have some simple way of searching all of the forum topics so I'd know whether to reactivate an old topic or start a new one.

Alex is still indexing the search database so the results will be limited.

However after "Display results as:" make sure you select "Posts" rather than "Topics".

Umm, wrongplanet has close to 83 million page views according to my data, but only about 1 and a quarter million posts. That little data in PHPnuke, using the PHPBB forum module as he is, should take probably much less then a gig of storage, likely closer to 200 megs (depending on how he has confirued the upload modules and likning, I'm not going to bother to check)

Assuming he at least went through SOME of the preformance tuning instructions that PHPNuke provided for the version tree he's running, it should take, with the specs of his VPS being what they are, about 45 seconds to reindex it all, if he's handling his SQL syntax ideally with proper keying.

Hey, why is Alex masking the number of results you get limited? Will we still be able to have the option of earching for all the posts on the board by so-and-so since the board's creation, or whatever?
