Hello all....
I just found this site today, and I am thrilled that there are people here that I can relate to. My son is 12 and was just recently diagnosed with AS. I have known since he was about 3 that he was unique, but it took this long to get a diagnosis. I, too, was told by doctors that I was just not a good parent and that was why he was having problems. I love my son dearly, and will do anything I can to make his life easier. This site is definately a place that I am going to get him started on. Hopefully he will make some friends that understand him.

I think you'll like us and fit in well collectively.

For Dean, since you mentioned he's 12: I believe there's a section here for children &/or adolescents. Maybe Dean could post and make friends as well! And for you (I'm sure you know already), but there's a parent's discussion board. I'm not a parent but we have many great members who are. Actually, I learn quite a lot myself from occasionally reading the parent's board; different perspective.

Hello and welcome to WrongPlanet!

I have 3 sons, my oldest two have Asperger's.

My 2 older sons are members of WrongPlanet and have greatly enjoyed the support and friendship from other people on WrongPlanet.

Glad your son has been diagnosed, sorry it took so long!

WOW! less than 24 hours and all those replies. I feel more welcome here than i do in my hometown!
Thank you so much for the warm greetings. it will be nice to talk to people who I don't have to explain my entire childs medical history to so they can understand why he acts the way he does sometimes. I'm going to check out the parents section and see how much I can learn.

Thank you again for making me feel such comfort in knowing there are people out here who I can talk to.
