A site for a sore I? topic

Jeepers! What would I want a site for? My special interests? Wittgenstein/Plath appreciation societies? What about Jean-Paul, part of my on-line name? (Sartre, in case no one noticed.)

This is just my point. I do not really merit a website. I used to have some on-line blog thingy. I cannot even remember how to access it. Was I expecting recognition? I used to dream about writing a book, a classic as timeless as The Bell Jar or Catcher in the Rye. Now I would rather not. My journals and writings are rather private and the best I can hope for is to leave them to my descendants, probably my youngest daughter, who seems more interested in my literary efforts.

This is not to discourage others. Strapples has great websites, and others have good ideas and even Eddiedog8 has an Aspie website for kids! Wow. :o But I excuse myself from web immortality. So many zillions of pieces of info on the web, no one could find me and it would be the same as being lost in a universe of zillions of stars. Briefly, I am not all that interesting.

As Anubis' signature used to say: "Nothing to see here, move along."

I have a website, and I think the link is in my sig or profile, but it's really just for fun, where I just put my artwork and stuff. I don't particularly care too much about the traffic; if people like to see it, they'll come back. If they don't, then they won't, and that's that. It's just sort of there if people actually care.

For starting a website, it just depends on what you want to do with it. If you're planning to strike big, don't expect to make a free one. You'll probably either need to hire people who can design and construct a website for you, or learn how to do it yourself and be familiar with it.

For a more personal and smaller website, you don't need to go that high end though. A little bit of HTML or flash will probably be sufficient enough. If not, you could even ask your friends to help.

I have made a few websites but I also get bored of them and stop paying so lose them and the domain names.

I'm given a free web space by my university (that's currently just the default page) and I have my facebook page.

Otherwise, no internet presence really.

Blogs yea.. the easy way out :P

so anyone out there have a blog...

whats the difference between a blog and a website?

(well you know what I mean a blogspot website and your own... features /type of site etc)

My original views are blogs are:

*your own personal view on... a particular topic life etc...

Websites
*your own Professional view

blogs

* more of a comment on other articles...

websites

*more recognition more "street cred" more importance for other clients business wow so you have your own website ala wow you have your own shop...

whats your views??

whats the difference between a blog site and other sites... etc..?

Well, I have a non-WP blog (You can view it here). That's hosted on Blogger. It's mostly about indie rock music, TV, Movies and Cynicism. That counts right?
