Long ago there was much more glaciers then there are now, as they melted at a rate of speed that from the beginnings of modern man till Christ (about 10-12,000 years), the earths water serfice has increased enough to flood all the coast lines of the world enough to buries small city's, and its gotten deeper since then, add to that meteors of near solid ice melting as it enters our atmosphere and smashes into our earth, the melting and added material is normal, its just we are getting close to the end of the ice pack and so its melting faster and faster, hastened even more by us.

This also will in the end even change the modern coastlines as well.

Though we have lost so much from the past and we well never understand what we have lost.
From former socialites that are under the sea today and maybe even tomorrow as well.
