Since I like reading mythology, I was wondering if anyone here with asperger is an fan of mythology. If you are, can you tell me what kind of mythology do you like. What I mean here is if you like myths and legends from a certain culture, wheter it is Norse/Germanic, Classical, etc.

I used to take Classical Civilisation at college and we read Homer's 'The Iliad' there which was a great book.

My "true" obbsession is religion in general, but of course that tends to overlap with mythology. My favorite are probably Norse and Roman, although I also like Greek, Egyptian, Mesopotamian, and a whole host of others. I also like how the different mythologies can sometimes be interchangable, like one god or goddess can be thought of as simply another name for a god or goddess in a different religion. You see that allot in Vodun (known to most people as VooDoo) and Santaria, where the gods of Africa, are interchanged with the gods of South American Indians, and in turn, are then interchanged with Christian saints and Angels. Fascinating stuff!

I like mythology. I've read some Greek(Iliad and Odyssey), some Norse(The Saga of King Hrolf Kraki and The Saga of the Volsungs), some Japanese(Various folktales online mostly about kitsune and tengu), some Hindu(Myths of the Hindus and Buddhists), and a teeny tiny bit of Roman(part of The Aeneid). My favorites are probably Japanese and Greek closely followed by Norse.

Mythology was one of my childhood obsessions. I love Athena and Mithras.

I especially like Norse, Celtic, Greek, Egyptian and Japanese mythology.

I also like comparative mythology. How different gods and myths are common in several mythologies and religions. How some mythologies evolved from others. And how the real events in the history of the ancient civilizations influenced in their myths.

Finally, I am interested in "modern mythology" too, like the origin and evolution of the figure of Santa Claus and things like that.

I'm really up on Greek mythology, as well as studying astrology through the ages.

I can't help but wonder if ancient mythology started the same way as modern mythology.

Who knows? Hundreds of years from now, people might recall the legendary exploits of the demigod Chuck Norris who ate rocks and crapped lightning.

My first passion of childhood :D When I was 6 and my mother and I were visiting my uncle, I saw on his shelf a book with Greek and Roman myths. The latter weren't equally interesting as the stories of Greek gods which were known by me by heart after some time because every time we were visiting uncle Stanislaw I demanded that book again :D My favourite god was always Hades.
