Also think it's annoying and weird.
Plus there was "turn your lights out" going on yesterday - I think it's international - all electricity off between 8 and 9 o'clock?
That really got my HFA son going. He started turning the lights off at about 7 and was a right pain in the bum....

The actual loss of time doesn't bother me - it bothers me that people can just change time like that. "Congress decided that it's now 3:30 instead of 4:30". That just isn't right! Don't mess with time!! !!

Move to Arizona! No daylight savings here - we have enough sun already. 88 degrees on the first day of spring, if I recall correctly. Can't wait for the 115°F days 8)

Yeah, I don't like the light either or the adjusting to the time. They should just leave it alone.

I'm so not looking forward to the hot and humid days of summer. :(

Didn't somebody calculate that the productivity loss and increased number of accidents due to loss of sleep actually cost more than the electricity saved by DST?

I don't know, but if you find where you got that stat from please post it.

It would be helpful to have on hand when I feel like ranting about the time change.

I don't know but they did do a study to calculate how much electricity was "saved" by DST. It turned out it actually costs more electricity. They apparently don't think it through before they change the time.

Study: Daylight saving boosts energy use
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/200 ... time_N.htm

"daylight saving time reduced electricity use for lighting but that more was used for air conditioning in the summer and heating in the fall than was saved."

"The magnitude of our estimate (for increased usage) ranged between 1% and 4%."

Yes, the arbitrary nature of it (even though decision may be labored over by legislators-it's still arbitrary to me) is maddening.

Yes, those too. Twice a year, am powerless to resist this silliness.

The REAL idea of the daylight savings time is not because it save energy which is a bueraucrats idiot excuse.

It about updating the clock so that night time doesn't fall on midnight and allowing people to wake up in the bright morning.

But.. you are right. I prefer no changes at all.

I don't get it.. it's like one of those silly traditions that are being perpetuated for the sole sake of it being a tradition...

Peoples biological clock get's al screwy if you cut and past an hour around..
Accidents, sleeplessness, etc..
Can't the global burocrats, for once, be sane, and be rid of this inefective nonsense?
